Student Individual Progress methodology

Spotiself Student's Individual Progress methodology - created in collaboration with scientists
This is a practical solution designed for consistent and purposeful monitoring of a student's individual progress throughout the entire school community. The methodology was developed in collaboration with educational science researchers and adapted for everyday use in schools. Spotiself Student's Individual Progress methodology provides a clear structure for organizing the monitoring of a student's individual progress—from self-discovery and goal setting to reflection, discussions, and agreements. The platform helps students consciously track their learning, set realistic and achievable goals, reflect on their experiences and assess their progress, notice even small changes, and grow at their own pace, comparing themselves to their past selves rather than to others.
Student Individual Progress Monitoring Methodology and Principles
Student's Path: From Self-Knowledge to Learning Planning
Student progress monitoring on the Spotiself platform is based on the Continuous Improvement Cycle. The student completes self-discovery tasks (strengths, interests, values), links them to learning and career directions, sets goals and plans actions, periodically reflects on experience, and makes decisions based on their progress. This helps develop responsibility for learning, independence, and intrinsic motivation.
Goals, Actions, and Progress Tracking
Spotiself helps students set clear and measurable (SMART) goals, plan actions, and consistently track their progress. The platform records academic progress, participation in extracurricular activities, social and civic activities, self-assessments, reflections, and evidence of activities. Regular self-assessments allow students to notice changes, identify what works, and adjust their learning strategy in a timely manner.
Data-Driven Educational Support for Teachers and Career Specialists
The class teacher or career specialist can see the student's engagement, completed activities, progress dynamics, and areas where additional support or encouragement is needed in their account. Aggregated class data allows them to see general trends (interest directions, competency self-assessments), plan lessons, consultations, and educational activities more effectively, and reduce administrative burden—all information in one place.
Discussions and Agreements – Meaningful and Structured
Spotiself provides a foundation for meaningful, fact-based conversations about student progress—during semester, trimester, or annual reviews, as well as in tripartite meetings (if the school uses them). The platform helps prepare for discussions: all important data is visible in one place, with clearly displayed goals, reflections, evidence of activities, and agreements. The process is consistent and easily documented. The frequency and format of discussions are determined by the school according to its procedures, and Spotiself helps ensure the quality and continuity of the process.
